Hi..my cat, a stray has mange and I heard of this "ivermectin"..I wanted to know if I can give this to my cat..if yes how should I give it..we don't have good vets here so I am thinking of treating it at home..also I ordered a "lime sulphur dip" which I googled about..are these two sufficient to treat my cat..? As of the cat it has rough skin on its head..also its eyes are semi closed now and it scratches its head frequently..plus it sometimes lifts one of its front paws in the air and stays.

It is not recommend you use ivermectin yourself without the guidance of a vet - it is too easy to overdose. All you need to do is apply a product called Revolution (sealamectin - a derivative of ivermectin). It is a topical spot-on treatment you would use once every few weeks until the skin is cleared. You should be able to get this from the vet. Lime sulphur dip is fine to use but since cats don't tolerate bathing that well it will probably be a fight.
