My puppy yelps when picked up. Should I take her to the vet?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 3 months and 4 days old | 15 lbs

Hello. My 3 month old Australian Shepherd and Anatolian Shepard mix started yelping in pain today and we are trying to decide if we should take her to emergency vet. She will be laying on floor or sleeping, when picking her up under front arms will help in pain. However she has no pain while jumping, running, can climb over baby gate with no pain and can jump on and off couch without pain. Attempted to ice her back, but it made her uncomfortable. Please help!

Poor Sidka! I recommend resting her for the next 48 hours. No running, jumping, or playing. Take her out to toilet on a leash, and bring her right back in when she's done. If she still appears painful after this time, then I would take her into the vet for an exam. The vet can diagnose where the pain is coming from, and can dictate a treatment plan for it. She may also benefit from some pain medications, which the vet can prescribe. Please do not give her any human pain medications, as many are toxic to dogs and can be fatal if given. Best of luck.
