Pet's info: Dog | Australian Shepherd - miniature | Male | neutered | 11 months and 6 days old | 21 lbs
My dog has tears in one eye and he keeps on blinking it. Other than that it does not look noticeably red or different, but I was wondering if this is anything serious.

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Louie. Increased blinking, squinting and tears can all indicate a painful eye. If this behavior continues, I recommend that he sees his veterinarian. He could have a scratch across the surface of his eye, an eye infection or another condition causing his eye to be sore. In the meantime, do not allow him to paw at or rub the eye. Based on the examination, eye tests may be recommended. Then medication can be prescribed if needed. I hope this information helps!

It sounds like Louie could have an eye infection or may have injured his eye. He will need to see a vet for this problem promptly, as leaving eye problems untreated can lead to vision loss. Please take him into a vet. Best of luck.
