My male cat is howling and straining to pee. Is this an emergency?

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Male | neutered | 7 lbs

12 + year old male cat has a history of bladder infection will it be benificial to inject it with Penicillin Benzathine this is an outside barn cat apron weight 7-8 pounds. He keeps trying to urinate and only manages small amounts and howls a lot trying.

This is an emergency and you need to take Duke to a veterinarian or PetER right now or he will get so ill that he might die. This is not a urinary tract infection primarily but very likely an obstructed urethra caused by crystals or bladder stones. Please take him to a Pet ER now, do not wait. Penicillin will not clear this up.
