How to start heartworm medicine for cats who tested negative?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 10 lbs

I have two 9 month old cats that I have not been giving Heartworm medication to bc it was never properly explained to me that I should be giving it to them monthly.... How should I start this medication for them? They both have tested negative for heart worms about 5 months ago

If they tested negative for heartworms within the last six months, then it should be fine to give them the heartworm medication. Just double check with their vet. The heartworm medication is prescription only, so they will have to see their vet to get more. Be sure to give it to them once a month. Set up a calendar on your phone with a monthly reminder to give it to them. I hope this helps!
