My dog was diagnosed with heartworms. What are the treatment options?

Pet's info: Dog | Rottweiler | Male | unneutered | 3 years and 8 months old | 75 lbs

My 3 1/2 year old German Shepard and Rottweiler mix has been diagnosed with heart worms. What is the best/ typical treatment course that we should take?

I'm sorry Milo has heartworms! There's only one drug that is approved by the FDA to treat and kill heartworms, and that is melarsomine. This drug is given by injection, and can only be given in a vet hospital by the vet.
