My cat was attacked by a dog, now weak and can't swallow. Does she need a vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 2 years and 8 months old | 5 lbs

My cat got attacked by a Great Dane she was twitching really bad yesterday when it happened. My parents won’t bring her to the vet. She’s not twitching anymore but she just lays there now and she sometimes moves a little. She tries to get up. I tried feeding her milk with a syringe but I don’t think she can swallow. Unfortunately, this sounds like Poofy needs to go to the vet immediately. If she was attacked and injured it is possible she has wounds or internal injuries that require treatment ASAP. It is important to let your parents know that when a larger animal attacks a smaller one, they can very easily become injured and should be seen by a vet ASAP as all injuries are not outwardly apparent.
