How much Royal Canin wet food for my recovering, underweight kitten?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Persian | Female | unspayed | 5 months and 25 days old | 1.1 lbs

Hova is 5 months old. She's much smaller than her brother. She's around 1.5 kg. She just got out of a really long and difficult health situation (Panleukopenia and Cerebellar Hypoplasia). I'm feeding her Royal Canin Recovery wet food (as per vet instructions). How much should i feed her so she can regain her weight? I don't have a scale, but i have measuring cups.

I’m glad to hear Hova is doing better! Don’t be in a rush to put weight on her. It will eventually happen with normal eating. For her size, feed her about 3/4 of a can per day. This will increase as she grows. You should also speak with your veterinarian about when to start adding in a kitten food as well. Royal Caninalso makes excellent kitten diets. I hope this is helpful and please feel free to post any additional questions.
