My Oscar fish's eye is foggy after Ich. How to prevent blindness?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Fish | Cichlid | Male | unneutered | 2 lbs

My Oscar got Ich, for the most part it's gone but his other eye just barely got foggy and I'm wondering if there's anything I can do to keep him from going completely blind?

Thanks for reaching out about Morty. Ich treatment need to be perfumed for several weeks at least. If mostly gone, means to continue treatments. Check water quality because high ammonia or nitrates can lead to corneal edema. A visit to a veterinarian might help with the diagnosis. Good luck.
