My dog is aggressive towards my puppy and me. What should I do?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Pit Bull Terrier | Male | neutered | 3 years and 2 months old | 35 lbs

My dog has recently become very aggressive. He tried to kill my new puppy and in the process, attacked me. He's never been like this before but now he's aggressive towards people. He's a super sweet dog, I don't want to have to give him up or put him down... What should I do?

Keep Caius away from your puppy at all times. Get him into your vet as soon as possible to discuss a referral to a behavioral expert. I never recommend owners work with aggressive dogs on their own due to safety reasons. Working with a behavioral expert will help determine if this aggression is something that can be trained. I hope this helps.
