Hi, My dogs behavior has been very anxious and fearful out of nowhere for the last week or two. Tonight, he woke up screaming and panicked (never happens) i thought something was wrong but i think it was a bad dream. He also has been having goup in his eye, which he has also had before, but not for a long time. Can he have gotten this from all his recent stress? Can dogs really have bad nightmares? Should i be doing something else or just wait it out as far as the fear? Any insight would be good

Poor Marshall! Although it certainly could be fear/anxiety based, I have concerns that he has pain somewhere and he woke up screaming because the pain woke him up. Dogs don't really have nightmares to the best of my knowledge. I recommend to have him examined by his veterinarian to look for any evidence of pain. If none is found, I recommend to talk to the vet about a temporary anti-anxiety medication as no one likes to see their fur babies like that. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.
