My cat came home injured with paralyzed legs. What to do immediately?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Asian | Male | unneutered | 1 year and 7 months old

Our Cat (1 year 6 months old) went missing last week. Today in the morning he came back crawling using his paws. Both rear legs are in very bad condition.. smelly, looks like they're paralyzed. There are wounds on the legs. Looks like he had no food during these days. So he's taking food as if its his last. It will take another 4-5 hours before we reach a vet hospital. What to do immediately

I would stop giving Vaalan food now because he likely will need to be sedated in order to treat his wounds as well as x-rays for his back. Give him plenty of water, keep him warm and quiet. Do not late him outdoors. Take him into a vet asap, as this is a medical emergency. Best of luck.
