My cat licked an Adderall pill. Is a quick lick dangerous for her?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Female | spayed | 1 year and 10 months old | 5 lbs

My cat quickly licked a 20mg Instant Release Adderall pill. She did not put it in her mouth or ingest any more of it. Will she be ok?

Thank you for contacting Pet Coach with your question about Annie. With a quick lick, the odds are she did not ingest enough to cause a problem, but I will give you symptoms of Adderall toxicity just in case. They include agitation, sudden aggression, vomiting, diarrhea, dilated pupils, seizures, tremors, panting, and drooling. If you see any of those signs, rush her into a vet immediately. Best of luck.
