My puppy has loose stools. Is FortiFlora safe and what can I do?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Male | unneutered | 3 months and 13 days old | 3 lbs

My puppie has on and off loose but not watery stools for a few days. One day they are perfect as far as stools go:) and the next they are softer and not as firm. All other behaviour is normal (eating, drinking, playing etc). His vet recommended Foriflora for 10 (half a sachet twice a day). I have read some positive articles as well but would also welcome another opinion and are they safe.

I hate to hear that Aero is having this issue! Yes, Forti Flora is safe for puppies and commonly used for loose stool. Feeding him a bland diet of boiled white rice and boiled white meat chicken (both plain) may also help to settle his belly sooner. If he gets worse at any point or if he still has loose stool after 10 days, I recommend to call his vet and they may want to see him again. I hope this is helpful and please feel free to post any additional questions.
