Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Male | unneutered | 4 years old | 22 lbs

My dog is having frequent stomach pain. He used to have it once in a ehile every so often. But from the past one month he's being having it twice every two weeks and once there was a drop of blood in his poop like 2 weeks ago. So I showed it to the vet and they said it happens sometimes in diarrhea.

Hello, thank you for your question about Phantom. Abdominal pain can be a sign of many different possible conditions. It can be seen with GI discomfort secondary to inflammation, which could be due to allergies, dietary intolerance, etc. Pain is also commonly seen with pancreatitis, and this condition can wax and wane if not treated. Some animals also seem painful from colitis, which would explain the blood seen in his stool. I would recommend having Phantom seen by your veterinarian so that they can try to localize the source of his pain and discuss th need for additional diagnostics or treatments. Hope this helps, good luck!
