Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | 3 years old | 11 lbs
My cat really loves attention. He usually sleeps in bed next to me but the last few nights he has been going into the living room and whining for me to come pet him. He has enough food and water and is not in any pain. The first time I got up and gave him some pets and he started purring. What would be the best way to break this habit?

There are a few things you can try to see if Bernard will settle down at night and sleep. Set aside at least 30 minutes a day to play with him to burn off some energy. Get some toys or a laser pointer and have fun! Create climbing opportunities such as shelves mounted to the walls or a tall cat tree. It’s a bonus if there is a nesting box on the top. Use a pheromone diffuser such as Feliway as this may help to calm him more. If this doesn’t work, you can always try a special diet or medications but try these things first. I hope this is helpful and please feel free to post any additional questions.
