My pregnant dog has worms. Is Fenbendazole safe before delivery?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Our Great Dane is pregnant and expected to go next week. This was not planned (she got away from us), so we've been a bit overwhelmed with the idea of puppies. I noticed what looks like a tapeworm by her tail this morning. I've been reading up on Fenbendazole. Is it safe to give to her this close to delivery?

Droncit (praziquantel) Canine Tablets for Animal Use are safe to use in pregnant dogs (do not use Drontal plus as it contains Febantel). Fenbendazole (Panacur) is also safe to use in pregnant dogs.
