My cats stopped eating after food and bowl location changes. Why?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

My two cats won't eat anymore, dry food or wet food because there's a lot of things that have changed. First, I accidentally change their dry cat food without doing it gradually and second I replace their food bowls in a new spot in our dining area. Now its been like a month after that. Now they don't eat. Also I cannot afford to feed them only wet food but I can mixed wet food to dry but they don't still eat. I prefer to feed them dry food. Should I get back things before everything it was?

Hello, thank you for your question. Yes, I would suggest transitioning things back to the way they were before all of the changes and see if this helps. Cats are very sensitive and prone to stress, so although these changes might seem minor it could certainly make them reluctant to eat. Hope this helps!
