My kitten is acting weird, not eating. Is lavender toxic to cats?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 1 month and 19 days old

Hello, I have a kitten about a month old, and since last night she has been acting weirdly. She keeps meowing loudly for nothing and she felt suddenly cold and will not play nor seems interested in doing anything. She has not poop since then and she tries to vomit but in vain also she seems not keen to eat anything. I wanted to know what is wrong with her? Thanks in advance. I’ve used lavender at home yesterday as a therapy, I wanted to know if that is causing her problem?

Lavender oil is toxic to cats, and one of the signs is vomiting as well as a loss of appetite. If you used it in the house yesterday and Gini is now showing these signs, I would suspect that may be the cause. It's quite serious when a cat won't eat, especially one as young as her. I'd take her into a vet immediately to get checked out. Best of luck
