Hey I recently adopted a puppy and I have noticed his stool tends to vary but can be very soft at times. He is house broken but has had two poop accidents in the house once when we gave him treats during the day and once when we gave him a little carrot while training. Should I be keeping him strictly on kibble only?

There are many types of diets that can be appropriate for puppies, including kibble, but kibble only is not necessary. It is a good idea to keep track of what treats may be leading to soft stool for Stitch (great name, by the way!) so that you can avoid things that may upset his stomach. You can visit the following link for more information on what foods are and are not safe for dogs https://www.akc.org/expert-advice/nutrition/human-foods-dogs-can-and-cant-eat/ The link below has good information about how to choose puppy food https://veterinarypartner.vin.com/default.aspx?pid=19239&id=5985068 If the soft stool continues or worsens, take Stitch and a sample of his stool in to the vet so they can assess him and run a fecal test if needed to rule out any medical causes for the soft stool.
