Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 3 years old | 53.6 lbs
I have 3 years old husky crossbreed. He has never had a bad breath but since this december his mouth smells terribly. His teeth are clear, he has some little plague but the vet said it's nothing. Also around that time his rectum started to stink. He is clean and bathed so I thought it might be stink from anal glands, but he doesn't slide, nor licks himself. My vet did the check up but doesn't said anything about it. Could those smells be related, like if he has some digestion problems? Thank you

Even with minimal tartar buildup and gingivitis, a dog’s breath may smell without daily/regular tooth brushing (as with humans!). I recommend purchasing an enzymatic (chicken flavored) doggie toothpaste from your local pet store or veterinarian and brushing Marley’s teeth daily (with the enzymatic toothpaste he will not need to rinse and spit). I also recommend bringing him back to have his anal glands specially checked via rectal exam as vets don’t always do a rectal exam on every visit and I have seen dogs with very full anal glands that have not been scooting or licking as per the owner. Good luck!
