My hamster ate baking soda. Is he okay if he shows no symptoms?

Pet's info: Small Animal | Hamster | Male | unneutered | 1lb

I think my hamster ingested baking soda, is there anything i can do to help him? he’s not showing any obvious signs of discomfort, but i’d rather be safe. thanks!

Theo should be fine! Large doses could potentially cause vomiting/diarrhea or bloat but if he is not showing any signs of discomfort 1-11 hours after ingestion the dose ingested was likely harmless. The active ingredient in baking soda, sodium bicarbonate, is sometimes even prescribed as an antacid for acid indigestion in humans and animals. Good luck!
