My dog has swollen lymph nodes, suspected cancer. Are injections good?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | unspayed | 10 years old | 44 lbs

Hi, Dolly is suffering from swollen lymph nodes at various parts of her body. Upon blood test we found her TLC level and platelets count has dropped below normal level. I already received advise from vet that it's not curable completely and vet suspect it's cancer. Still one of the vet has advised some injection for her. Pls advise if these injection will be good for her. I'm from a small town so vet facility is not up to the mark.

If they are suspecting cancer or an auto-immune disorder then yes this injection could be helpful. It isn't guaranteed to work. If you don't want to do chemo, you could always try steroids to see if this helps temporarily. Unfortunately, it will not cure her and after some time it will stop working. I am sorry for the bad news you've received lately and I hope that the meds give her the best quality of life possible. I hope this helps !
