Why does my dog have a pink spot on his testicles? How to treat?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | unneutered | 1 year and 1 month old | 50 lbs

My dog has developed a large pink spot (probably puss) on his testicles. Could someone please advice me on what it may be and how I should treat it?

This presentation could be due to a trauma or localized spot of skin infection (likely to be caused by bacteria or fungal). A check up, appropriate disinfection and possibly antibiotics or antifungal meds (oral, topical or in a shampoo formulation) are needed to solve the problem. Disinfection can eventually be started at home with very diluted hibiscrub or betadine or salted water baths. Buster collar may be useful as well to avoid any licking. It is not possible to assess this by your description only. It would help if you could upload a photo of the pink spot. In general this could be an abrasion, an injury, an allergic reaction, a bacterial or fungal infection, or at worst, a skin tumor. I suggest you have this examined and evaluated by a veterinarian.
