My cat licked essential oils on my skin. Is it safe or toxic?

Hi, I didn't even think about it until it was on my skin, but I started using Lush's Wiccy Magic Muscles massage bar and it has cinnamon and peppermint oil. My cat doesn't seem too bothered by the smell but he licked my skin, and I'm worried I could be poisoning him without realizing it. Are essential oils in lotions fatal to cats, through air and minor ingestion? How diluted are they usually in comparison to diffusers, and is that safe for cats? Should I take him to a vet?

Minor ingestion should not be harmful at all and they usually do not cause any major side effects. Generally speaking lotions are much less powerful and concentrated than essential oils for diffusers. I would suggest to keep him monitored and in case you notice any diarrhea, vomiting, retching or hypersalivation, lethargy or inappetence a check up would be required.
