My car has a hole on her leg, it’s aboit half a size of a dime. I was thinking it’d be from a possum but I’m not sure

Hi, and thanks for your question. Even though a picture would help to understand better the underlying cause, This presentation could be due to a trauma or localized spot of skin infection (likely to be caused by bacteria). A check up, appropriate disinfection and possibly antibiotics (oral, topical or in a shampoo formulation) are needed to solve the problem. Disinfection may be started at home with very diluted hibiscrub or betadine or salted water baths. Buster collar may be useful as well to avoid any licking. That looks like an infection and I recommend to have Dash examined. Lesions like this can be due to infected bite wounds, cancer or a blockage of the lymphatic system. Dash also needs to wear an elizabethan collar at all times to prevent licking. Have him examined today. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.
