My dog is limping with a white spot on her paw pad. What is it?

Nashville has a cut on her paw pad and we’re trying to figure out the best way to help it heal it quickly. We think it’s a cut, it’s the white curcle in the picture. We’ve been trying to leep it clean, and spray Vetericyn on it. It causes her to limp. Is there anything else we can do to help her so she’s more comfortable?

This does not look like a cut, but rather like a corn. Corns are keratin calluses on the front center paw pads, such as under the second toe bone, which lacks subcutaneous tissue or padding. This will not be cured by putting Vetericyn on the lesion, but will likely need surgery. This is a complicated condition, and here is a really good article with extensive information for you: http://veterinarymedicine.dvm360.com/paw-pad-pain-review-corns-dogs I recommend you schedule an appointment with your veterinarian for an exam and treatment. The information in the article should give you a good overview of what to expect.
