My dog changed food, now has sore tongue, yellow stool. What to do?

Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Male | neutered | 1 year old | 55 lbs

Hi, I have a 1 year old Pit Bull/Weimaraner mix that is having allergic reactions to his food. He had red bumps on the inside of his back leg and his nose is very dry and peeling. After changing his food the bumps are going away but he now has a sore on the tip of his tongue. He’s also not eating as much after changing his food. When talking him for walks I noticed his stool is yellow and very soft. I’m very concerned about his overall health and need advice on what to do next to help Kobe

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Kobe. I recommend that he sees his veterinarian. I agree that the skin appears to be resolving, the loose stool and the lesion on his tongue needs to be addressed though. He may need fecal testing and deworming and/or antibiotics depending on the results. In the meantime, you can bathe him with a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner such as an oatmeal or fatty acid based formula to soothe the skin. I hope this information helps!
