Cat's ingrown nail swollen. Can I use old meds, peroxide, or vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered

My cat had an ingrown nail previously and it was fine but has blown back up and is swollen and cut open looking. He received medications first time and it was never finished would I be able to give him that again to help or should I see a vet? Also is water and a little bit of peroxide okay to place the paw into for a second or two? He won’t let me take a picture of the actual cut

I would not recommend using peroxide for that, he will likely need to take medications again, as i do not know what medications he got and for how long, i cannot recommend that your resume the treatment, i would advise consulting your vet today.
