My senior dog sleeps a lot and won't go outside. Is this normal?

In October I adopted a 13 yr. old Silky Terrier who was rescued from a hoarding situation. She had been in a foster home for 11 mos. before I got her. She was very fearful and shaking a lot. She is now pretty relaxed. She liked to sniff around outside, walk down the street and around the block. She was happy to go out every 2 hours or so. Now she sleeps all day until about 7-9 p.m. She is a picky eater. She doesn't seem sick and is frisky when she's up, but doesn't like to go out. Pet's info: Dog | Silky Terrier | Female | spayed | 13 years and 5 months old | 9 lbs

I'm glad to hear Jill is doing so well. Dog's preferences can change with the weather or just due to their own reasons. As long as she doesn't;t seem anxious or fearful outside, I think it's probably fine. Many dogs, especially older ones, do sleep a lot! Make sure she is going outside to potty at least 4-5 times a day and watch her for any signs of illness. I hope this is helpful and please feel free to post any additional questions.
