There is this giant mound of scab on my dogs shoulder and it’s huge and thick, i don’t know where it’s from. I’m scared cause i see him scratch it sometimes and it’s lifting so I’m scared it will really hurt him. And also where did this come from? He’s had these weird scabs before but they use to be yellow

Bear could have a scab from an injury, parasites or a minor bacterial infection. Scabs are nature's bandaid, so make sure you leave it alone and when the tissue underneath is healed, it will peel off. Since it is a solitary scab at this point, monitor it and make sure it heal appropriately. If you see more scabs forming or it's getting worse instead of better, take Bear into the vet. If it is something that really causes a lot of stress, have him seen as well. Piece of mind is everything!
