My puppy chews gravel. Is it dangerous? When are puppy shots due?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 2 months and 27 days old

My pup has a habit of chewing on gravel whenever I take her out to potty. Is this normal or should I worry. Also, is she old enough to get her shots and stuff done?

You should not let your puppy chew on graveel as it might swallow the gravel and end up having to be opened up to repair an intestinal blockage caused by the gravel. At 3 months your puppy should start its vaccinations right away and also be wormed. Best schedule an appointment with your vet.
