My puppy won't eat while staying with a friend. What can I do?

Hi, My Shih Poo 5 months old dog is staying with a friend for two weeks while I’m on vacation. My concern is that he’s going to get depressed and not eat. What can I do to hello him? Pet's info: Dog | Shih Tzu | Male | unneutered | 5 months and 6 days old | 10 lbs

The best thing to do is bring things that are familiar for him. He toys, beds, and blankets that have his and your scent will help. I would also encourage your friend to try to stick to his normal routine schedule. If may not eat the first day or so, but generally after that they settle in and do just fine. You can also send some baby food or chicken to give as something special to help entice his appetite. If your friend hand feeds him treats it may make him more comfortable also
