My husky is sneezing, congested, and inactive. What can I do at home?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Siberian Husky | Male | unneutered | 3 years and 2 months old

My Siberian husky is sneezing often, and he has a hard time in breathing because of the discharge on his nose. He is also not active like usual, but he's still eating like normal. What home remedies can we do to treat it or make him feel better? It is so hard to reach the vets in our area. Thanks in advance!

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Tommy. I'm happy to hear that he is still eating and drinking, but that is a significant amount of discharge coming from his nose. He will likely need to see his veterinarian. I suspect that he has a respiratory infection and will likely require an antibiotic. In the meantime, encourage him to eat and drink. You can try running a hot shower and letting the steam build up in the bathroom. Then let him in the bathroom for a bit. Breathing the humid air can lessen his congestion. I hope this information helps you and Tommy!
