My budgie is perching on the same low perch, keeps sneezing, breaths out of her beak and wont eat her food. Is there anything i can do other than take her to the vet?

Unfortunately, these symptoms point to illness. A visit to your veterinarian or an experienced avian vet would be recommended. Birds are quite adept at concealing illness, so by the time they are showing symptoms, they are already quite ill. For now, clean and sanitize the cage, bowls, toys and perches. Discard anything that cannot be sanitized. Use paper towels on the bottom and change daily. Keep the cage away from strong drafts and keep your budgie warm and as stress free as possible until she sees the doctor.

Unfortunately i do not know what she died from, these are very general symptoms of a very sick bird, these same symptoms will occur with almost any severe disease. it could have been an infection or maybe something she ingested. for the next bird make sure you disinfect the cage if you are going to use the same cage, try avoiding metallic toys and try feeding her bird fruit pellets only.

My condolences on the loss of your little bird. Without a post mortem examination, it would be very difficult to determine the cause of death. She may have been quite ill for some time and simply succumbed to whatever illness she had. Birds are very adept at concealing any illness or injury until they are very sick. Try to spend some more time with your remaining bird. Make sure he continues to eat and drink and monitor for any lethargy, loss of appetite or loose droppings. Keep him warm and as stress free as possible. You may want to have him examined by your veterinarian or an experienced avian veterinarian to confirm good health in case your other bird died from something contagious.
