My dog mated 44 days ago, no belly or weight gain. Is she pregnant?

It has been 44 days since my dog was mated but I still am not sure if she’s pregnant. She hasn’t gained any weight and her belly isn’t big yet. What should I expect to be noticing at this stage?

Basically at this stage you should see weight gain, increased appetite and her nipples should begin to get larger at this point. if you do not see any of those it is very likely that she is not pregnant.

I would recommend having her seen by your veterinarian. She may have experienced a pseudopregnancy where the hormones mimic pregnancy and can lead to milk production. Some small breed dogs have just one puppy at a time so it is also possible her belly just isn't that big - your veterinarian might recommend an x-ray or ultrasound to check and see if she is pregnant.
