My puppy behaves aggressive occasionally and begins to snarl, bark, and bite! What do I do in these circumstances?? She is three months old. It usually begins when she is picked up and doesn't want to be. It is not possessive, rather a more " don't touch me" manner. What do I do?? Her bite is becoming more and more painful. I try and distract her with a toy but when she gets aggressive, she wants to bite people, not toys! What can I do when she does this?

Hi there! Aggressive behavior (snarling, growling, etc.) when picked up or disturbed is not normal in a puppy this age, and is a very concerning red flag for future behavior issues. I would take this very seriously, and make an appointment to see a veterinary behaviorist who can evaluate Zelda in person and help you put together a detailed plan to work on this issue while she's still young, rather than waiting for things to get worse as she gets older. You can search for a board-certified veterinary behaviorist in your area here: www.dacvb.org
