My puppy has parvo. Vomiting stopped, gums pink. Is she improving?

My puppy has larvo yesterday she was playing but today she just lays around. The vomiting has stopped and there is no blood in poop but she still has diarreah her gums are also pink today while they was white yesterday is she getting better ??

I'm sorry that Prissy has parvo! It sounds like she could be starting to improve, but without seeing her in person, I can't say for certain. Parvo is a very deadly disease, and it will take a couple of weeks before she is fully recovered. Make sure she stays hydrated, as dehydration is the number one cause of death in these patients. Also keep in touch with her vet, and take her into immediately if you have any concerns about how she is doing. Best of luck!

If she's stopped having diarrhea, this is a good sign. I hope that she has some medication on board for nausea and vomiting - if not, your vet should be able to prescribe some for you to give at home. Normally, with parvo, the best sign of recovery is when they have gone 24 hours without any vomiting and are eating on their own - until then, you need to continue treatment with fluids and other supportive care.

My 2month old puppy has parvo,she has given intensive care...saline,intervenous injections are given for last 2 days... it's her 6th day in parvo attack...she couldn't even drink ors...but for the last 18 hrs she hadnt vomitted and drank lots of ors
Parvovirus is so aggressive, and anything can happen. However, what you describe in her behavior makese optimistic that she is starting to improve. Now if she will eat that would be a really good sign! Best of luck and I hope she continues to improve quickly! Thank you for using Pet Coach.

I found a 5 to 7 month old puppy about 2 days ago and found out he has parvo, I was told to push lots of fluids because I don't have the funds for a vet. He was passing bloody stools but now he is passing yellow stools, is that a good or bad thing?
The color of the stool does not necessarily tell you if the infection is improving or worsening. Obviously if there is a lot of hemorrhage in the stool this is not a good thing. When treating parvo at home, I want to see resolution of the diarrhea, improvement with hydration and appetite returning. If none of these things occur or the infection worsens, the prognosis is not good for at home treatment and hospitalization is highly recommended. At minimum, you should at least see a veterinarian and obtain antibiotics and fluids so you can do the proper treatments at home. I hope this helps and that Leo gets better soon! My puppy started vomiting a few days back and today he passed black stools.. he is continously being monitored by a vet for timely injections and vaccines and medicines. Its food and water has been stopped for 24 hrs, But i want to know how it can be
Without seeing Paris and know what the vet is treating for and what medications she has had it is very hard to say. Black stools can sometimes be a sign of digested blood, but sometimes the color change is from medications the pet is on. If there was a viral infection and there is a possibility of blood in the stool, I would be concerned for parvovirus. If that is the case, this is a disease process where you are treating the symptoms- like vomiting and diarrhea- and waiting for the intestinal tract to repair itself. That can take up to 14 days. If she was diagnosed with Parvo and she is not eating or drinking, I would recommend going back to the vet for IV fluids and nutrition. There is a parvovirus vaccine, but she needs to be healthy before receiving it. In the meantime, I would keep her away from all other dogs until she is healthy. Good luck and kisses to Paris!

I have 2 dogs that have parvo. theyre both confined. The first one started drinking yesterday Although her wbc is high, is this a good sign? The other one has low wbc. What else can i do?
Having the WBC increasing and the puppy starting to drink is a sign of improvement. You can start this pup on dog food, small amounts as long as she isn't vomiting. Make the food soft and warm and start with it licking small amounts and then increasing gradually until it is eating normally. With the other pup the most important treatment with parvovirus is to maintain hydration. Try dribbling small amounts of water in the mouth every hour or two or I recommend giving sub cutaneous or IV if possible as it is the most effective treatment needed for recovery. Good luck with their care. This is a terrible disease so please get all your pups and dogs vaccinated against parvovirus when they are healthy. What are good signs a dog is recovering from parvo
If Princess is starting to eat, have energy, no diarrhea, keeping food down then I would say she is doing better. If she still is lethargic and not doing well at home I would say that her body is still fighting the virus. Thank you for using Boop by Petco.

If your puppy has parvo, it is best to work with your treating veterinarian for care and help. Parvo is a very serious illness that can be potentially fatal and usually requires hospitalization or intensive care for treatment. Diarrhea in parvo can usually be blood-tinged indicating irritation of the digestive tract, or may be greenish in color indicating an increase in mucous in the stool (also a sign of irritation as well as shedding of material in the digestive tract). If your puppy's stool is changing color, it may be in response to the change in his illness or just a sign that his digestive system is still very irritated. It is best to speak with your veterinarian that has seen and is treating him for any further care instructions related to his illness.

This is my dog’s poop after 2 days of medication. She is positive in parvo. Her vet already gave her antibiotics, but still no improvement. She still vomits and poop blood. She is very week.
Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Poor Berry! Parvo is a very serious disease and sadly can take much longer than 2 days to resolve. On average it takes 3-7 days and the puppies get worse before they get better. That is a lot of diarrhea. Be sure that you are keeping up with Berry's hydrational needs. Hopefully she is getting IV fluids, IV antibiotics and IV antinausea medications since she isn't holding anything down. Ideally she should be hospitalized if that is possible. It's good that Chloe is drinking water, but it's not an improvement if she can't keep it down and vomits it up. Dehydration is the number one cause of death in these pets. You may need to take her back into a vet for IV fluids. I certainly hope she recovers!
