My dog has a new red scabby bump on his rib. Should I worry?

There a bump on my dog right by his rib. I don't know if it's a wart or mole or bug bite but it has a pink/redish color and a scab on top of it that looks fairly new because it is red. I don't know how long it has been there for though.

You are correct with all of your possible causes. Bug bite, benign growths, and even tumor are all possibilities. If it does not resolve within a few days, or if it is getting any larger then I would highly encourage you to have him evaluated by your veterinarian soon.
