My dog has a red spot on his penis. Should I worry or see a vet?

Unless it is actually bleeding (dripping blood), there is nothing you need to do. The body will repair this in time. Should the hematoma get bigger, ie the red spot expand, you will need to take Gus to a vet for a coagulation check, as he may have a problem with his blood clotting ability. Should you find more red spots like this, for example in his mouth , on his gums or in his ears, then he needs to be taken to the vet right away as he may have ingested an anticoagulant (such as warfarin or similar rat poison).
