My dog is a picky eater. How to transition from soft to dry food?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Dachshund | Male | neutered | 7 years and 8 months old | 18 lbs

So I posted not too long ago about my pet injuring himself by falling in a hole. Well, since then I had been spoiling him with new pet food, Purina Soft and moist and Ol' Roy soft and moist cause I felt bad and now I can't get him to eat his previous foods, Kibbles 'n Bits or Ol' Roy hard food. Is there a way I can get him to eat his other food again? TIA

You can mix the 2 together and slowly decrease the amount of soft food he gets to get him used to dry food again. You can add a small amount of chicken or beef broth to the food to give it a little more flavor an entice him back to dry food that way
