Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 8 months and 2 days old | 50 lbs
My dog is a Shepherd-Boxer mix, about 8 months old. He is a fairly large dog already, so we are a bit worried. He does bite people, to the point that he will break skin, but not to an extreme. He doesn't do it aggressively, mostly, it is just when he gets overly protective or hyper. He is very loving and smart, and he can be good with people sometimes. We wanted to try and train him out of it before he got bigger, so we wanted to know if you have any idea on what to do to train our puppy.

I would recommend actually hiring a trainer to come and evaluate Axel. They can work with you and him on how to either stop the behavior or redirect him so he does not bite people. Your veterinarian or people in your neighborhood will be the best place to go for a recommendation. I would also recommend a trainer that comes to your home. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
