My puppy grinds teeth eating. Is this normal or will it stop?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

All three of my wolf / wolfdog puppies grind their teeth when eating food. The sound of it gets lost when they crunch on dry food but you can definitely hear their teeth grinding when they eat something soft. They still have their milk teeth and nothing looks out of ordinary or misaligned. Do all puppies do this? And will it continue into adulthood?

Not all puppies do this but they usually grow out of as they get bigger unless there is a malocclusion that is causing an instructional problem with their bite. As long as they are eating and playing well then I would monitor asthey grow
