My Pomeranian's joints crack, but she's not in pain. Should I worry?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Pomeranian | Male | 14 lbs

I notice now when my dog gets up from a flat position to walk or stretch, I hear cracking from what I think is coming from the knee area. She is a 8 year old pom. Has no symptoms of pain or limping. Normal activity and jumping. She gets a good dose pf glucosamine and omegas through food and treats. Anything I should be worried about or prepare for?

If there is no pain or limping then I would not worry. If he ever favors that leg, then I would get it checked. Arthritis is a possibility or a luxating patella based on the breed. Glucosamines and omega 3 fatty acids help a great deal but there are other medications your vet can add if needed.
