Can my German Spitz puppy get worms from eating honey or raw carrots?

My 6 month german spitz has 4kg 700grams.is his body weight is normal?and when he getting cough i give him 1 tablespoon honey.is he has a chnce for this worming prblem?he love to eat raw carrot.is raw carrot harmful for worm?has he any chance for getting worm for eating raw carrot and honey?

Typically a male German Spitz will be between 7kg - 11kg when fully grown. Given that he is six months of age, he is a good weight. Honey and carrots do not give a dog worms, so it's fine for Shiro to have them for an occasional treat.

At this weight your puppy will have an approximate adult weight of about 54lbs. This would be relatively small. The average weight of adult German Shepherds by gender are: Males: 66 – 88 pounds (30 – 40 kg) Females: 48 – 70 pounds (22 – 32 kg). Your GSD may be a smaller type, or it may not be growing like it should. I suggest you take Mike to a vet for a wellness exam assessing his growth rate. Make sure you feed good quality puppy food for large dogs and his age bracket to ensure optimum growth.

What should be the recommended weight for a German Spitz-Chihuahua mix??
This really depends on the size and build of the dog - with mixed-breed dogs like this, genetics can be very unpredictable! :) Instead of focusing so much on how many pounds he weighs, I would recommend looking at his body condition. Ideally, you should be able to feel his ribs fairly easily when you run your hands down his sides, and he should have a visible waistline or "abdominal tuck" just behind the rib cage. If you can't feel his ribs or he doesn't have a waistline, he probably needs to lose some weight. If his ribs and hip bones are visibly sticking out, he's probably a bit too thin and should gain a bit.

Thanks for using Boop by Petco! Keep in mind that you may perceive him as being eating a lot but his caloric intake may not be sufficient for his body weight. This is easily calculated with the following formula: Trooper's body weight (in kilograms [which is his weight in pounds divided by 2.2]) multiplied by 30 plus 70. This total you multiply it by 1.8 and the result would be the amount of calories that he should be eating per day to gain and maintain a healthy body weight. You can always find the caloric intake of the food you are feeding Trooper online. If you have any questions regarding how to calculate his needed caloric intake per day, contact your veterinarian. My German Shepherd puppy is 18 weeks old. Since I’ve got him he hasn’t gained weight. He eats and stays hydrated. I don’t know if there’s something wrong or if it’s just because he’s a growing puppy, and plays a lot.
German Shepherds are lanky dogs, especially when they are puppies. Make sure you are feeding him enough and that he is dewormed regularly. If Boe is still abnormaly thin as an adult, then I would worry about something else going on. I would recommend to feed the Royal Canin German Shepherd Puppy Formula. This is a nice diet with the right calories for a growing puppy. Please post again if you have any further questions!

I feel like my puppy is kind of skinny when we brought him home he had worms that is cleared up now but still no weight gain. Should I be doing something different.
Congratulations on your new puppy! Fergus is adorable! In the photos, he does not look particularly thin, but you can monitor his weight to make sure. He should be eating food formulated for puppies - the back of most bags of food has directions on feeding. You can definitely feed him a food specific for large breed dogs, but this is not necessary. He should be eating about 3-4 meals per day, which can be decreased to 2 meals per day once he turns about 6 months.

If they looked like spaghetti, they were probably roundworms. All pups get them from their mother, so it's expected that they would have them. They should be dewormed every 2 weeks starting at 2 weeks of age until 8 weeks, and then should have a fecal test run. You may see more worms coming out as they die. For the weight, I'd recommend checking weights daily with a baby or kitchen scale so you can bring them to the vet if they aren't gaining. I hope that helps!

Hi there and thank you for using Boop by Petco to address your concern. If Shera is only 4kg at this age, I would suspect something is preventing him from gaining weight. I would recommend having him examined by a veterinarian and have him checked for intestinal parasites and treated for parasites. He may have a congenital disease such as a liver shunt or some other systemic disease going on that needs to be treated. The sooner he is seen the better. is this dewormer is safe for german shepherd 3 year dog and dosage ? how to give . because my dog lose day by day and also he does 2 3 time stool in a day and vomiting i my area i havnt any vet so what can i do?
The product is a good broad spectrum dewormer, but the picture is too blurry to tell the dosing . It should be labeled for how much to give on a weight basis. Intestinal parasites can cause weight loss, but in a German Shepherd Dog I also worry about exocrine pancreatic insufficiency. This can cause diarrhea and significant weight loss as the dog Can not absorb nutrients effectively. A blood test called a TLI tests For that. If you do not have a veterinarian close you may consider traveling to see one as if it is EPI they can fail to thrive and actually starve to death even if they are eating normally. Small breed puppies should be fed a small breed puppy diet and should eat 2x daily.
