My 9-week-old puppy has worms. Can my kids play with her safely?

Hi I have a Chihuahua pug puppy and she's only 9 weeks old I took her to the vet and they said she has worms and parasites and my questions is should I be holding her or letting her play with the kids... is she's really contagious?I've been keeping her in the garage...I'm really concerned .... Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Female | unspayed | 2.7 lbs

There are certain worms that can be transmitted from dogs to people, but it's not easy. However, there is a particular concern with kids getting Toxocariasis. If the worms were diagnosed by a veterinarian, then she should be able to find out the species of worms that were discovered and let you know if they are a concern.
