My dog had a tick that fell off. Is Lyme disease a risk for us?

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Male | unneutered | 1 year and 2 months old | 80 lbs

at first i didnt know what a tick was or looked like i only heard of them but i have seen this bulb like sacks (which was the ticks body) a few times so far like 2 maybe 3 i got curious of what it was and i rubbed it and it fell out into my hand i looked at it then tried to comfort my dog and i dropped it i could not find it is there any thing to worry about like lyme disease for dogs and humans from it or will it just die the tick has been there for like 2 weeks also please help

Ticks can certainly be a problem and transmit a number of diseases including Lyme disease and others. Ticks transmit diseases by attaching to the skin and need to remain attached for a period of time to transmit disease. You do not need to worry about the tick that fell off any more than other ticks, but if you have seen other ticks on Laser, then you should look into prevention options. There are a large number of tick control products that work very well to help prevent disease transmission by ticks.
