My dog got rat poison in her mouth. I rinsed it. Will she be okay?

If My dog had a block of tomcat poison in her mouth for just a few seconds I took it out her mouth rinsed her mouth out she spit up the water will it will ok

As long as none was ingested, it will likely not cause any problems. If you would rather be on the safe side, you can bring shelbi in to see your vet and have her blood tested to make sure that there are no changes consistent with rat poison. I hope this helps!     It could be that she didn't ingest enough to cause ill effects, or she vomited up the poison before it had a chance to affect her. Watch her for any symptoms just in case and get her seen if she shows any adverse reactions.

As long as she didn't ingest any, there is little concern that she will have any toxic effects. You can flush her mouth with water to help ensure there is no residue. It's best to find out the type of poison. If you have the packaging, then there should be a number to call in case of poisoning. If you call the number on the package (1-877-854-2494) you should be able to talk to someone at the animal poison control who can help you determine what chance there is of any toxic effects and if anything needs to be done. Regardless of the dose ingested, it is recommended to at the very least start then on vitamin k which can help tremendously if in fact Roxy got anywhere near her toxic dose. This is an inexpensive and easy to implement therapy. She is not at a point that any effects are expected as it is too early in the course for that. I recommend that you have Roxy evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They could check her out and treat her accordingly. Good luck and have a great day!

Marley will likely be fine now. I suggest you take her to your veterinarian for a coagulation panel in about 7 days, just in case some of the anticoagulant in the poison (if this was the anticoagulant type) dis get absorbed. Watch for signs of illness (neurological such as seizures, or increased thirst...there are a few other types of rat poison which can cause this) and if these occur, please take your dog to the vet. Apart from that, if all the poison was regurgitated within a relatively short time after ingestion, your dog should be fine.

I'd take Chubbs into a vet immediately for treatment to be safe. Depending on the type of poison, it can take days for signs of rat poisoning to appear in dogs. Bring the box of rat poison so the vet can treat him appropriately. Best of luck.

Bromethalin is a pretty nasty rat poison, not treatable with Vitamin K, as it is not an anticoagulant. It makes the brain swell and is moderately to severely toxic. There is no antidote only supportive care, such as inducing emesis (vomiting, to remove as much poison as possible), charcoal (to hopefully neutralize some of the poison, iv fluids and medication to reduce the cerebral edema (brain swelling). As with many poisons, the dose is important. You will still need to monitor your dog for a few days for incoordination (ataxia), tremors, seizures, and paralysis. It appears that your vet managed to remove most of the poison, so, if your dog is not showing any signs 24 hrs later, there is a good chance that Nikko is recuperating.

My puppy 3 months old ate a 3 oz bag of rat poison with Bromethalin in it 2 days ago while I was at work. When I got home and seen what happened I looked up what to do I gave him Hydrin peroxide to make him vomit and even got some activated charcoa
I don't know all the details about his case and what his bloodwork looked like, but if the vet said he should be fine, then it appears everything checked out ok. I know how it is to worry about your pet and wanting extra confirmation that things are fine. Only at high doses are they considered lethal, and there would have been symptoms of a high dosage within 12 hrs of ingestion. If you have not seen any symptoms (i.e. hyperexcitability, hyperthermia, muscle tremors, hyperthermia, or seizures), then he did not receive a lethal dose of the toxin. Low dose toxicity can cause delayed symptoms, which are 1-4 days post ingestion. These are typically managed with medications and supportive care. Just keep an eye on Beau for the next 2 days for any changes and have them addressed by your vet asap. Otherwise, you can rest easy knowing that he likely did not ingest a lethal dose of the poison. Mila should be seen by a veterinarian immediately. This product is an anti-coagulant poison that inhibits normal blood clotting and leads to internal bleeding. Fortunately, there is an effective antidote (Vitamin K) but it's important to make sure you minimize the amount of poison Mila absorbs, and get her started on the antidote. Depending on the timing of the ingestion, your vet may make Mila vomit, and may give her something to minimize absorption, or they may recommend testing her current blood clotting ability. I am sorry to hear about your worry with Charley! It sounds like luckily she is in the clear! If she wasn't showing any signs of toxicity and started vitamin K right away, then most cases would do just fine. Also, it sounds like she didn't ingest enough to cause toxic effects if the company is correct. If you want to feel even more certain (in terms of amount ingested) you can call Animal Poison Control if you know the exact brand/concentration of the bait she ingested, then they can calculate the toxic dose needed to cause symptoms. There is a fee for their service. The number is (888) 426-4435. IT sounds, however, like you have nothing to worry about!

Will wilsarin rat & mouse killer affect my dog? He ate some pellets. He’s part Great Dane so he is a big dog. It’s been 24+ hours and he seems to be okay.
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! While this rat poison has a different mechanism of action that has been advertised as being less harmful to dogs, it has been reported to cause issues in dogs including anemia, gastrointestinal upset, among other symptoms. For that reason, I would recommend that you contact the ASPCA poison control center as they specialize in the more uncommon toxicities in dogs and will have more information on how to proceed from here. Otherwise, have him evaluated by a veterinarian so that they can contact the poison control center for you and proceed with the treatment recommendations. This is time sensitive and he should be evaluated as soon as possible. I am hoping for a full recovery!
