Is Simparica safe and effective for my tiny chihuahua's ticks?

We have been giving nacho revolution for heartworm and fleas (due to his small weight) with no treatment to prevent ticks. Our vet recommended switching him to simparica (2.8-5.5 lb.) since it is the only tick prevention medicine for his size. Have you had any experience with this product and would you recommend it? He’s a micro chihuahua- 14 months old and 3.75 lbs. Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Male | unneutered | 1 year and 2 months old | 3.75 lbs

Simparica works efficiently against flea and ticks. Covering ticks is very important and this product is excellent. Discuss with your veterinarian a possible treatment for heartworms as well though as simparica does not cover for that.
