Is feeding wheat to my pet goat and her baby okay or harmful?

Hi This is Jawad, I have a question regarding my Pet Goat with her baby. someone told me to feed wheat and someone advised no it can cause with loose motion. Please advise if it is ok to feed them wheat.? Your prompt and helpful answer will be really appreciated. Pet's info: Other | Unknown - Other | Female | unspayed | 90 lbs

You can feed wheat if you must, just feed in small amounts. Too much may cause an imbalance in gut flora leading to GI upset. The high starch,low fiber content increases acid levels. Barley or oats are much safer and healthier. Any grain should be cracked, rolled or flaked to aid in digestion and maximize nutritional value.
